Jerry I. Meyers, Attorney at Law

Medical Malpractice Lawyer in Pittsburgh PennsylvaniaJerry Meyers is the founding partner of the law firm of Meyers Kenrick Giuffre & Evans. His practice focuses exclusively on medical malpractice cases, an area to which he’s devoted his entire 31-year career as an attorney.

Meyers has been noted as a trend-setter in medical malpractice law, both in Pittsburgh and nationally. He has been responsible for investing in a number of measures that differentiate Meyers Kenrick Giuffre and Evans from other law firms, such as keeping full-time nurses on staff to review malpractice cases, retaining physicians for delicate case research, and establishing one of the most extensive privately owned medical libraries for a law firm.

A meticulous problem solver, Meyers approaches each medical negligence case like a scientist trying to solve a puzzle. Having worked in a hospital for nearly a decade as a respiratory therapist and seeing patients suffer needless injury; Meyers felt an intense drive to help individuals who have been harmed by the medical system. Although he loved medicine, Meyers became convinced he would be more effective bringing about improvements in the way medicine is practiced from the outside as a lawyer, than from the inside as a doctor. His goal, to make a difference in the way medicine is practiced.

This unique perspective has afforded Meyers certain medical and legal instincts that make him a highly effective advocate for victims of medical negligence. He is deeply committed to his work, his clients, and the betterment of the medical and legal industries. Meyer’s goals are clear: help clients and do everything possible to prevent medical errors.

Meyers is fond of saying, “Nothing would make me happier than to be put out of business – not by the legislature, but by doctors and health care providers being more careful.” Despite this wish, medical errors, some with grievous consequences, continue to be made. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a talent for uncovering the root cause of such problems. Meyers gets satisfaction from solving the puzzles of medical malpractice and helping victims overcome the challenges they’ve been confronted with.

A native of Pennsylvania, Jerry Meyers was born in McKeesport in 1946 and grew up in Duquesne. He served the US Navy as a corpsman, where he received his first medical training.
